Speak Up for Animals volunteers have participated in the annual Animal Rights March in Auckland, on 25 August 2018.
More than 800 people are estimated to have marched together, calling for animal rights and animal liberation. Many marched under vegan banners and flags.
The event in Auckland was the first in a chain of marches that took place worldwide. The marches began in London in 2015 by the animal rights group Surge, and has grown steadily and considerably each year since. 2018 was the fist to see a march taking place in New Zealand.
Speak Up for Animals have organised a bus to drive people from the Wellington region all the way to Auckland. On their way, the activists rescued an injured duck, have enjoyed the snow on the Desert Road, and have practiced their chanting of Animal Rights slogans.
SUfA will keep having its volunteers participating in the Animal Rights march in years to come.
